D1 suffers from the Phobos/Tango split because only some libraries work with both. And it has D2 looming over its head. D2, well, it has nothing.

I think once D2 settles down, and Tango with all its friends are usable there, being able to recommend and push D will be easier.

I would change 2 to, not many people know of D and how it improves C++

3 is the reason Walter wants D to work with C so easily.he_the_greathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04613378554505896996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3190794070849828802.post-65097282047313309152008-10-23T08:07:00.000-07:002008-10-23T08:07:00.000-07:00They may be generic problems, but I feel that they...They may be generic problems, but I feel that they are what is holding back D the most.Clay Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09392619674246400530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3190794070849828802.post-5362255731627640572008-10-16T19:52:00.000-07:002008-10-16T19:52:00.000-07:00Well, these problems are not D's problems specific...Well, these problems are not D's problems specifically. They are the generic "new language" problem.

LLVM is almost certainly the answer to #1, though.baxissimohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08238692561509849252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3190794070849828802.post-45476678230628954672008-10-16T10:52:00.000-07:002008-10-16T10:52:00.000-07:00I think the official D compiler should target llvm...I think the official D compiler should target llvm, either as part of clang or in some other way.Lucianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07775013906985712587noreply@blogger.com
